5 Step to Start a New Business

5 Steps to Start a New Business
Author: SohoOS

The California Gold Rush is one of the most important events in our history. People from the East Coast and the Plains rushed toCalifornia hoping to strike big in the gold mines or the rivers of the great state. Communities expanded near the gold mines and businesses grow. Some miners and businessmen earned plenty of money before moving out of the mining communities, while others remained the same, just as poor as when the Gold Rush began.

Because of the wonderful American experience during the Rush, many developed the necessary business virtues needed to be successful in business. They are integrity, independence, and unrelenting pursuit of one’s interest profits.

The Gold Rush of this century is eCommerce. Historians see similarities between the Rush and modern-day eCommerce. Both economic events are free, i.e., there is very little government regulation and thus, one must win or lose on his own. While many college dropouts and independent thinkers are striking big, some are losing money in the online sphere.  Some wannabe young billionaires try their best to copy what the Silicon Valley achievers have attained but failed. Some invested tens of thousands dollars but lost at the end. The lack of proper business attitude is not only the cause of many downfalls. We found out that many had a “bad start” or that the business was doomed at the beginning. Here are five steps to start a new business online.

1) Develop a Good Understanding of Ecommerce and Doing Business Online
Bridge builders don’t use the same design for different materials. An adequate understanding of the online business realm is necessary before one can successfully establish an online business or a free lance business operation on the internet. You cannot simply buy all the marketing books because there are new rules of the games online. You cannot simply rely on old business models to do business online. With the right business attitude and a good understanding of eCommerce, then you are ready for step number two.

2) Create a Unique Website Name and Register it ASAP
If there is an invisible hand operating in the internet, then that is combined public response of boycott and ostracism. If your domain name appears to have been copied from a popular website, the website viewers or the potential customers will definitely know it. You cannot hide such fact on the internet. We suggest that you choose a domain name which is unique, i.e., something that you created or something which came from your own thinking process.  Aside from those mentioned, you also have to quickly register your domain name. It might happen that someone somewhere in the world (not only in the English-speaking states) might have developed a parallel or congruent idea as regards the domain or website name. If you think that such a coincidence is impossible, you better recall what happened between Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace.  Both men developed the same theory at almost the same time.

3) Build a Marvelous Center of Operations Online
After choosing your website name and registering the same owning it, then you are ready to build your online presence. The World Wide Web is filled with hundreds of templates designer websites capable of providing you with the right starting tools for your online business. In choosing the right set of frames or other rich internet applications, you have to make sure that they match your business needs and what your target clientele might expect. For more information about how to set up your website from the ground up, we suggest that you check out the commentaries of professional website designers in the blogosphere. Like the website name, the resulting website must be original.

4) Find the Right Website Marketing Manager for Your Business
After you have invested time and money setting up the website, you naturally would like to get a handsome return of your investments. In other words, you want to profit from your efforts and you want to reach your target clientele as fast as possible.
The final step is often disregarded but this is very important. Without a good website marketing manager, your website will turn into a nonsense floating online property which constantly depreciates in value. You need a partner to bring your website/goods/services much closer to your target clientele.  You need someone who will efficiently manage your marketing needs using the latest strategies. Brilliant companies will help you get back your investments and gain profits from your online business adventure.

5)  Solidify Your Online Business
Once you established your site and made excellent partnerships with the right website marketers, you should never lost focus of your twin goals – expansion and profits. Losing sight of your work or your business will make all your previous efforts useless. Businesses are always prone to new competition every now and then. Thus, you should always upgrade your website and make sure that your marketers are also upgrading the strategies
